Thermosetting Powder Coating for Electrostatic Spraying

The form of powder coatings for electrostatic spraying technology is completely different from normal coatings and exists in the state of fine powder. Because there is no solvent, they are called powder coatings. The main characteristics of powder coatings are: harmless, efficient, resource-saving and environmentally friendly.

 Thermosetting powder is a commonly used type of electrostatic spraying powder and one of the first to be developed and applied. It has high hardness, excellent chemical resistance and excellent high temperature resistance, and is widely used in industrial coating, manufacturing, construction and other fields. It is commonly used thermosetting powders include epoxy, polyester, acrylate and polyether.

Electrostatic spraying powder coatings are generally divided into two categories: thermoplastic powder coatings and thermosetting powder coatings.

1. Thermoplastic powder coating

Thermoplastic powder coating consists of thermoplastic, pigment, filler, binder and stabilizer. Thermoplastic powder coatings include: polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester, PVC, chlorinated polyether, polyamide, cellulose, polyester and so on.

2. Thermosetting powder coatings

Thermosetting powder coating consists of thermosetting resin, curing agent, pigment, filler and additives. Thermosetting powder coatings include: epoxy resin, epoxy polyester, polyester, polyurethane, acrylic resin and so on.

Plastic powder can be divided into thermoplastic powder and thermosetting powder; outdoor powder and indoor powder; high-temperature-resistant powder and low temperature powder.
1.The advantages of thermoplastic plastic powder are toughness, good bending, chemical resistance, and can be applied to the coating of thick coating film.
2.The advantage of indoor powder is that the performance is weaker than outdoor powder, can be used for indoor workpiece coating, the price is relatively cheap.
3.High temperature powder can withstand high temperature of 200 degrees for a long time and the coating does not change color, the physical and mechanical properties of the permissible range.
4.Thermosetting powder at room temperature will not soften and agglomeration, good mechanical dispersion, easy to form a flat coating film.
5.Outdoor powder is suitable for outdoor workpiece coating, with antioxidant, anti-ultraviolet ray, anti-acid and alkali fog and rain, good thermal expansion and contraction performance.
6.Low-temperature powder is able to level into coating film at 80-150 degrees Celsius, and can be used on wood and plastic.
